Jeff started Alter Ego Sports back in 1993 and has watched it grow into one of the premier shops in Winnipeg! Jeff has taken part in every single sport that Alter Ego Sports carries: cycling, snowboarding, nordic & alpine skiing. He has been from Monterrey to Bromont, Boulder City to Madison. While he can't travel to ride as much anymore, he can now enjoy time taking care of his family.
Marketing & Merchandising
Affiliated with the shop in some capacity for over a decade now, Heather is the mastermind behind Alter Ego marketing and merchandising. She does her part to make our store look its best, and to keep things new and fresh. If you see something in the store that looks clean and well displayed, she had a hand in getting it done. Heather mostly rides on the road, and has participated in both charity rides and shop events.
Fit Specialist / Manager
James has been here since nearly the beginning. Like Jeff, James has participated in all of our sports heavily. He's spent time on the mountain and on the flats. He has decades of experience in these sports and fixing the gear that breaks with them. Not just a mechanic, he is one of Canada's Master Fitters (and one of the 1st!). When he isn't at the store, he is likely out skiing or cycling - whether it be for fun, or for one of the many charity rides he takes part in regularly.
Website Administration / Manager
Chris joined the Alter Crew in 2005, and has been working on the website when not helping customers looking for that special something to make them smile. He has now officially retired his mountain bike, and is now usually seen riding his commuter around Winnipeg. Although he won't be breaking any speed records, since getting his latest bike he is averaging 10,000+ km a year on his bike, either outside or indoors.
Fit Specialist / Coach
Rick joined back in 2009 and brought with him decades of experience in the sports that we do. In addition to providing bike sales guidance, Rick is also certified in various fit schools, not to mention the coaching expertise he provides based off of years of experience. In the colder Winnipeg months, Rick is known to run indoor training classes to mold us lesser beings into proper shape.
Daniel joined the crew in 2009 and quickly made a name for himself by riding in to work from across the city all year: rain, shine, snow, or otherwise. You may not see him on the floor regularly, and this is because he tends to live in our shop furiously servicing bikes, skis, and snowboards. If you are out on the roads or trails, you may see Dan out there on one of his many bikes. He's also known to his the hills on his snowboard in the winter!
Employed since 2010, Jackson has worked his way up from his youthful start, into the service department and now onto the sales floor. With the ability to perform most repairs, Jackson can draw on his mechanical expertise to offer comprehensive advice when combined with his accrued knowledge. A snowboarder in the winter, Jackson has ridden many flavours of bike: mountain, road, cross, commuter, and cruiser.
A former triathlete, Delaney joined the crew in 2011 and brought with her a unique perspective that only a triathlete could. She has competed in various locations across North America, as well as in New Zealand. She has also spent considerable time on both road and mountain bikes. Rumour has it that she has even ridden hipster commuter bikes as well. She may still have one. Delaney will gladly help you find that special something - just look for her on the sales floor.
